rob was really good and he took me through everything 100% recommend to anyone who is looking for an amazing teacher for driving

Took just two manual lessons with Rob in the weeks before going for my PDA at midland. Rob was incredibly helpful; walked me through all the tricks I needed for my test. Ended up passing first try.

Totally unprofessional and impossible to contact. I was admitted to hospital at midnight the night before my scheduled lesson. I tried to cancel online and couldn't. My dad tried to call the morning before the lesson but there was no answer so he left a message. Then Steve messaged my when I was just about to have a CT scan to say he was outside. I told him I was in hospital and couldn't make the lesson. His response was he would "see what he could do". We had anpther lesson booked for the following week but I was still in hospital so my dad cancelled it online after trying to email, call and text - no response. The website said they don't give refunds only rebooking but there is no clear instruction on how to rebook. I would never recommend this service to anyone.

Nobody showed up or reached out. The driving school did not pick up.

I just received a call from the owner and realized there was a misunderstanding with my booking. He was able to rebook my classes and explained to me what had happened. I'm glad that the issue was resolved promptly.

Anil is an amazing instructor. He is calm and patient, observes my skills closely and explains everything in details while making me calm and not losing my confidence. Highly recommended Anil.

Mojgan was a fantastic instructor who both helped in feel less nervous going for my test and driving in general. She made me feel confident in my ability to perform a variety of manoeuvres in addition to making sure that I was relaxed during my test at Cannington. If you want to get good advice for your test area and feel relaxed doing it then Driving School WA is the place to book.

Anil is awesome and looking forward to polishing up my technique with his very helpful methods. Highly recommended.

I had such a great experience with Driving School WA.

As someone who suffers heavily with anxiety, getting my driver’s license has been one of the most stressful and anxiety-inducing things I have ever done. I procrastinated and put things off as long as I could due to all the stress.

I did a few driving lessons with another company and all seemed good, but I decided I wanted to go with a new company and get a new instructor just to switch things up, that’s when I forums Driving School WA on YouTube.

With my PDA booked in, I decided to book myself in for a Mock Test to see where my driving skills were at (advice from one of their YouTube videos).

After sitting the Mock Test with Lorraine, who did not leave any stone unturned and went through everything with me (something my previous instructor did not do) I was surprised with the amount of stuff I had not been taught yet. So with this knowledge, I then decided to reschedule my PDA because I thought I needed more time to practice what I had just been taught.

It just so happens that the only slot to book a new PDA was in fact on the day that my Learners Permit expired. So after practicing all I could, I book in for one final Mock Test with Lorriane a few days before my PDA.

I received a call from Steve (Owner and Founder of Driving School WA) after I tried calling because I was having an issue with the ‘Pay Later’ option on the day of my Mock Test. The issue had already been resolved with Lorraine and I had already sat my final Mock Test when he called. Steve apologised that he missed my calls, he was training new instructors. He then went on to give me a very encouraging and uplifting motivation speech, which I really appreciated.

So I just want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Lorriane and Steve (and Driving School WA) for their help in getting me my P’s on my first attempt at Mirrabooka. I’ll forever be grateful!

Lorraine is a fantastic instructor that never holds any teaching for a later lesson, and really pays attention to the essentials in driving.
She is also very warm & approachable, which really helps in building up confidence in your own driving.

Josephine was an amazing teacher! I had 10+ lessons with her in the build up to taking my driving test. I was very anxious and stressed on the road. She was very patient with me and helped me build confidence as well as teaching me driving techniques that made driving much easier and less stressful! I never thought I would ever be able to drive in my life! She came to support me at my tests after our  lessons twice times. I cried when I passed second time! Can't thank you enough Josephine!

I highly recommend Nima. Always punctual for lessons and I liked that he sent a message for when he arrived so you don't have to wait outside or listen out for a car. During the lessons he was very calm, talking through the movements and when I wasn't understanding a concept or seeing where my mistake is, he would use business cards with a wallet or draw out the situation. I especially liked that he would constantly be checking if I had any questions after an activity rather than waiting until the end. I still find myself using some of his suggestions. Thanks Nima!

I chose to have 1-hour drive plus PDA car hire service with Surender. He picked me up on time at my address and from the first moment he was very friendly and helpful. Surender guided me to do different manoeuvres and refresh me on the correct ways in case I missed something. Definitely worth paying for this service with experienced drivers before your PDA. We were on time for my assessment and he accompanied me to meet my assessor and then waited for me until I got all my documents at the center after I completed my practical assessment. Outcome was: PASSED on my first attempt 🎉🎉🎉

No one contacted with me in advance and no one showed up. I tried to call the driving school twice, but got no response (maybe because it is Sat, but on the website they said they only don't answer phone on Sunday).

Fantastic feedback from my teenager; Josephine broke down the manoeuvres into manageable parts and had a calm manner. We highly recommend.

Lorraine is a very good instructor with excellent knowledge of the road rules, we drove in an area that she wasn't very familiar with however she still taught me very well and pulled me up on everything i did wrong so i knew what to improve on. Josephine is a very good instructor, has a extensive knowledge of road rules and she is very good at communicating your mistakes to you, therefore allowing you the improve. Lorrie is a delight to be taught by. She is astute and diligent. Areas for improvement were quickly identified and worked on in a manner that was reinforcing. For the lesson we drove around areas and performed maneuvers she knew would be routed in the test. This was tremendously helpful and I credit her with my passing of the test.

OMG!!!! After 3 fails I met Lorraine via driving school WA and it’s like am still dreaming. I got a pass not just a pass it was a flawless pass. I'm glad I went with Driving School WA for my test and specifically with Nima. I booked 2 driving lessons and a test session with Nima as my instructor and was pleased with the entire experience. Nima was very thorough and honest with me, correcting all my mistakes and giving me reliable advice that showed immediate results. I felt very comfortable during our driving sessions and I can say with certainty that Nima truly cares for his students and is invested in their success. I was able to pass my PDA after 2 sessions and I honestly don't think I would have been able to do so with another instructor.

Did a 2 hour drive with Lorraine and yes, I did learn some new driving techniques from her. 1) Eg. when I am on the right lane of a 2 way round-about and about to leave the roundabout to turn left later , I need to still keep in the right lane - signal left when leaving roundabout (but still in right lane), then, while left signal still on, mirrors, left wing mirror, check left blind spot and move into left lane when safe to do so.

My prrevious (wrong) technique was when leaving the right lane roundabout, signal left and aim the 'nose' of the car towards the left lane straight-away.

2)Right turns at traffic lights with no right turn indicator - move car towards the dotted lines marked on the road. My wrong way of turning was to turn the car near the 'diamond' - not going over it but near to it making sure that there is enough space for cars coming straight towards me.

3) And another of my bad habit is - I tend to 'dry' steer when reversing out of residential parking space.

I had a very good experience and definitly recommend their services. Rami was an excellent and patient instructor who helped me learn all that was needed to pass my test and transfer my international license. He was always there on time, answered all my questions and showed me a lot of driving techniques as well as going through the test routes. I was very happy to have contacted driving school WA. Steve, the owner and Rob the instructor were very knowledgeable and professional, and also very patient.

As a traveller I needed to convert my lisence to an Australian lisence. I took a 90 minute lesson with them and was concerned at the start if I needed to do that as I have been driving for a long time, but it was well worth it! Not only do you have to drive safe but you have to please the driving assessor at the department of transport, and to do it in the correct steps, and Rob my instructor knew exactly what to do and how to teach it.

Josephine is awesome!!!! Passed first go! I've had lessons almost daily with Josephine over the past two weeks, auto conversion to manual. She is patient, knowledgeable, skilled, an excellent communicator and has a cool sense of humour. Her encouragement and positive reinforcement is what gave me the confidence to correct my mistakes and go into my test feeling calm and happy. Overall it has been an excellent experience. Thank you for taking the time to give me this response. I know it took a bit if an effort on your part to respond, however, I would like to point out a few things to make people a bit aware. I am not trying to veer away future customers but it would be best that they be made aware of what they are getting themselves into.

First, I was told I will never be able to get an exam until Feb 2018 but I did it myself and I was able to book myself for this month.

Secondly, he went to my house without my permission and presses the door bell unceasingly which made me feel threatened. And that was after I posted my review. Instead of me wanting to talk to him my housemates prohibited me from doing so as they felt threatened as well. We did not have an appointment and he did not tell me that he was coming.If you want to have proof about this I have a cctv recording. I don't make it a habit of telling fibbs.

And lastly, you provided me the sessions to accommodate my personal needs? The very reason I wanted to discontinue the lessons was because I didn't feel I was benefitting from the sessions. It felt like I was paying him just so I can be made to feel stupid and incapable. Had it been a pleasant experience I would have continued and followed his advise. A driving lesson is a two way relationship, he tells me his opinions and I get to express my concerns so he can give me advise but that is not what happened. Instead, I was not given a chance to do neither, and I sat there being shushed to silence if I even try to talk. He arrives late for a session and would hurry for the next. Is that how I am supposed to learn? So, if you were in my shoes would you want to keep going?

I acknowledge my need for help to pass the driving exam, but that is exactly why I chose Steve cos the reviews were astounding. Can you imagine my dismay when I had the opposite experience?

If you want further proofs, I can attach screenshots of conversations but I believe this review is enough. I hope this is a one time event and it wont happen to others.

We suggest that you keep that CCTV footage but if we prove you wrong we will seek compensation from you for wrong accusations. You know it's not true!

'A stressful experience driving with steve'

CONS:

Expensive and one would expect a quality service but execution is very poor. Poor in building a therapeutic relationship with a client.
Late for 20 minutes during the 2 sessions and in a rush to go to his next session. Does not even give you time to speak after session as he wants to rush off.
Unprofessional- bought a syndicate ticket at the POST while session was ongoing.
Easily hot tempered if things are not going his way and makes you lose your confidence.
Will not recommend to any of my friends. He told me he already booked for my exam and when I asked for the confirmation letter after I cancelled my appointment with him as I was very unhappy with his service. NO REPLY.

PROS:

NONE. Definitely wasted my time and money.

Dear Sheena, the reality of your situation and what you wanted were two completely different things.

Steve had 100% pass rate in the last 60 days! He coached over 5000 people in the last two decades.

Candidates who passed, took every piece of advice they were given. Driving a motor vehicle SAFELY is a serious responsibility.

Your level of skill required exactly what we recommended. You wanted to condense 3 block lessons into one double lesson. To Pass a PDA in WA you need to meet the standard.

We did exactly what we promised. We found you a PDA booking only four days away from the first lesson.
If you tried booking, you wouldn't find any available dates before February 2018.

Due to the restriction on your permit, we booked your test over the phone so we didn't get a written confirmation. You were advised of the same both on Wednesday and Saturday, yet you kept demanding the PDA letter. We never got one, the Department sent it to your residential address.

The reason overseas driver's licence holders in WA are required to sit a driving test is clear. The legitimacy of those licenses is unknown despite allowance to drive as a visitor or a non-permanent residents. Those laws will be changing soon.

To us, safety on roads is THE most important priority. If our clients object our guidance and using the dual pedals during driving lessons we reserve the right to decline those students permanently.

I wasn't happy with my first and only lesson with Driving School WA. I booked a 7 am class with Steve, based on the great reviews I read on this site. At 6.55 am I received a call from another instructor of this school saying that Steve's car broke down. While the lesson with the other instructor was fine except for one minor issue (we couldn't pinpoint the exact reason why my first 2 attempts of parallel were successful and the later 2 were not), this is not what I agreed to. Well, moving on.

Cars break down unfortunately!
Each instructor does approximately 1500 kilometers every week, so occasionally things need fixing.

We managed to find a replacement in less than half an hour from the time Steve's car broke down that morning. Josephine was at your place at 7 AM.

Steve is by far the best instructor i have had. Hes honest about how much it will take and what you need to pass the test. I am very happy i got to opportunity to use Driving School WA's services!

Just passed my driving test.
After being off the road for a few years I needed my licence for my new employment.
Steve and Has were brilliant. No pressure, very easy instructions give by both gentlemen.
I would recommend them to any one who wishes to have a stress free and enjoyable time whilst learning to drive.
A refresher course would also benefit the more mature drivers out there.
